In 1971, Yellowglen came to be. It was named after an old gold mine that are now vineyards. The original owner, Ian Home, recognized the regions potential to produce premium sparkling wines, owing to its cool climate conditions.
In 1978 the first Yellowglen sparkling wine was created. In the following years the Yellowglen range expanded to include Yellowglen Brut NV, Yellowglen Cuvée Victoria, Yellowglen Brut Crémant.
In 1989 Yellowglen Vintage was released and soon gained a reputation for being one of Australia’s finest single vintage sparkling wines.
Then came 1996, a turning point in the history of Yellowglen, in fact the total Australian sparkling market. In this year Yellow was launched and became an instant success. It broke the mould with its stylish & fun packaging. Australian’s started enjoying sparkling wine beyond the traditional occasions. It became common practice to enjoy popping a bottle of Yellow at everyday occasions.
In 2003 Yellowglen did it again. It excited the market with another innovative sparkling wine, Pink, a sparkling rosé version of Yellow. Australian’s were in love again.
Together Yellow and Pink are Australia’s #1 sparkling wine brand, regularly enjoyed by Australian’s all over.
At this stage only “Pink” and “Yellow” by Yellowglen are available in North America.
